Another beautiful day in Mombasa (apparently it was supposed
to be raining) but not from where I’m sitting.
Breakfast this morning was a lively affair with our new-found
monkey friends that took great delight in disturbing Martin. Principally
because I kept throwing food over his side of the table. Little things I
suppose.
After calling the shipping agent we are informed that the truck
is still on the vessel. Apparently, they are very busy. Even though I am disappointed
I know it is out of our hands. It has though given us an opportunity to relook
at the route we are going to take. The current plan is to head to Amboseli
National Park, close to Kili and then onward up to Masai Mara. Not too daunting
a start.
One always makes friends on trips like this (some more
welcome than others) however our latest chum, Dennis, heard about our
predicament and introduced us to the Interior District Commissionaire for Mombasa.
Apparently, our truck will be ready tomorrow. Its who you know right š
NEWS FLASH – our shipping agents have called, and we will
collect the truck on Friday. Ummmmmmmm
Without putting a downer on anything I have to say that I
will be well rid of the journeys in the tut tut across the river with
unbelievable traffic, diesel fumes and stifling heat. Come on bring on the
truck and let the journey really start
PS
Random picture of tonic water which we acquired today (first
available bottle since arriving) to put Martin out of his misery.
PPS. Well done Spurs and Man City fans for last nights
